Long Time no C

Dear Friends,

It's been a long while since I last posted something here.

About time something new to be added.

I am at work right now, but I don't feel like working today. My favorite thing to do would be: Sleep all day today.

Yesterday I went to Hua Hin to hand out some of our wedding invitations (which thanks to Sao look really beautiful). It happened that I met a couple of friends. Most of them had gone back home and others were traveling around Thailand and the world.

I had a nice day althoug of course one day is not enough to be completely relaxed. I took as much time as I could and tried to keep it cool not to get in a rush. It was good to see the guys again.

I love to talk about politics with Ricardo. Right now I don't have the time and energy to concentrate on what is going on. Ricardo always has insider information which is very enlightening. It's always nice to find out what is happening in Thailand. :)

Coming back from Hua Hin to VIP on the Bike the clouds are getting darker. I feel the first drops of rain on my skin and I am thinking to myself, 'Shit, this can't be happening' I know speeding up the motorbike won't help and I am going to be caught in the rain just short before I get to VIP. Still I am speeding and the rain doesn't start until I am under the bridge. About 2 Minutes outside of VIP, where I have to return the bike. Rain here in Thailand can be very short and powerfull. After wating 15 minutes under the bridge, it was clear this rain was strong and long. I wouldn't make it to VIP without getting completely soaked.

I had only 15 more minutes before the bus for which I had a ticket would leave Hua Hin. 15 minutes plus the time the bus takes from Hua Hin to VIP Condo to return the bike - and get through the massive monsoon rain.

When I got to VIP I was completely soaked. Anywhere I stood for longer than 1 sec I would leave a pool below me.

I returned the motorbike and the people were really nice. They own a laundry shop and used to drive me to the train station when I was studying at Webster and wanted to visit Sao in trang. They know my story.

They gave me a towel and dry clothes to wear. Then they gave me an umbrella to be a little safe from the rain while waiting for the bus on the other side of the road.

While standing in the rain. Now with short pants and a shirt which was 2 sizes too small. Under a tiny umbrella trying to seek shelter from the monsoon and the waves cast by cars passing by, hans called me. Perfect timing.

The bus ride was long and cold. From 7 PM until 11.30 PM because of traffic jam.

Therefore, work today is a little harder than usual...

Wishing you all the best!

Yours,

Robin
