Birthday Parties

I started at Vienna Far East (1987) Co., Ltd. at the beginning of this year. The job came with a house in the same Soi (side street) and a company car.

Since we've been living here life has constantly been improving.

We've also given birthday parties for family members and friends. Three days ago our house was again the centre of a music video of our friend's band 'Hua Lampong'. It is just great to have the space for such occassions. It is also good to have a place where people feel at home.

Here are some pictures of the parties at our house in the middle of the street.

1. Birthday Party 'Yoh"

It all starts with a birthday cake...

The lights are turned off and the candles are lit.

All light comes from the candles.

She was really surprised as her birthday was going to be in two days. It was weekend so we celebrated ahead of time.

Her birthday also coincided with Kim's and Ruth's visit to Southeast Asia and to our place. I just found those pictures... I didn't even realize we had pictures of this evening.

Kim and Ruth came to visit us at home. At first they wanted to eat a little bit.

Well, the food was good and so there was no stopping until all the food was gone...

In the next picture you can see our long table. Basically used for everything. Working, studying, chatting on the internet, parties, chilling out, playing games, watching TV. All around table.

I must admit, I always like introducing newbies to the country I have been residing in for the last three years. There are a lot of interesting stories to tell which you don't realize when you're just visiting.

Picture below: Look at the three guitars in the background... ^^

Looking at our wedding pictures. Really beautiful, again. I am glad that it costs here only ;itt;e compared to what pictures in a studio would cost in Europe.

But actually those are pictures of Germany. Kim was also shocked and moved by the sudden passing of my grandmother. We've known each other since we're kids. My grandmother and his parents used to be best friends. I wish we'd have had more time. It was still good talking to somebody who knew and appreciated her as much as I did.

Barbara also used to look after Kim and Ben (Kim's younger brother) when they were young.

On and P. Mart. They got married two days before Sao and me. A nice couple and old friends of Sao. Just like with Sao and me their marriage was delayed because of a death of a close family member. Only their next best date to get married was two years later...

Smile for cake!

Sao and Oy.

A, Yo and Oy.

I am either saying something very intelligent or something very stupid to impress our guests... but they are listening... ^^

Edam, Sao's sister.

2nd Birthday Party 'Neen' - Sao's older brother

Everything starts with a cake...

One of his first surprise parties. He really didn't expect us to remember - not to think of celebrating his brithday.

One group picture.

Me after some glasses of wine...

Chai Yo!! Cheers and another one!

Ei Mos, Sao's younger brother is playing guitar.

Neen, Sao's older brother plays, too. I think they are all artists in Sao's family. Neen left home with 15 and learned from some of his friends now he's 28 (or 29) and independent. Mostly working for temples and restaurating Buddha images.

Sao's younger brother, Mos, is studying art as well...

3rd Birthday E-Dam Sao's younger sister...

It all starts with a birthday cake...

The final preparations...

The lights are ready...

Surprise!!!

In this picture Mos could go for a ladyboy as well...

Sao's happy...

So are we...

After all the happiness, comes the munchies...
